My Premier League Team of the Season

My Premier League Team of the Season

With the Premier League nearing a close, with many clubs in a tense relegation battle, Manchester United looking set to clinch the title and Fernando Torres attempting to score, I have decided to pick my team of the season in a response to the PFA team of the year.

Joe Hart-Manchester City-32 games-14 clean sheets

The Man City goalkeeper has been outstanding this season with him only conceding 31 goals in 32 games and becoming England's first choice goalkeeper.

Leighton Baines-Everton-32 games-4 goals-11 assists

The Everton full back has shown his quality this season, not only as a defender but as an attacker. Based on his form this season, he should be an England regular.

Gary Cahill-Bolton Wanderers-30 games-3 goals

As a Bolton fan, it was almost impossible to ignore Gary Cahill. He has been a rock at the back under Owen Coyle and is England's best centre back for some time. A move beckons to a top English club in the summer.

Robert Huth-Stoke City-31 games-6 goals-3 assists

The German defender has finally proved his quality this year with his performances at the back helping Stoke to all but secure Premier League survival. He is also Stoke's joint top scorer this season.

Branislav Ivanovic-Chelsea-29 games-3 goals-4 assists

It is quite hard to believe that Chelsea have conceded fewer goals than any other team this year and Ivanovic has been their most consistent and reliable defender, playing in almost every game so far.

Samir Nasri-Arsenal-27 games-9 goals-1 assist

The French midfielder has become the first name on the Arsenal team sheet after a brilliant season for the former Marseille captain. His form might have fizzled out lately but his earlier performances can't be ignored.

Kevin Nolan-Newcastle United-27 games-12 goals

The Newcastle captain has never been given the recognition he deserves at Bolton and now at Newcastle. He is the top scoring midfielder in the league this year, but he is constantly ignored by Capello.

Charlie Adam-Blackpool-29 games-9 goals-7 assists

Blackpool has proved to be an anomaly to the riches of many Premier League sides. Blackpool would surely be relegated if it wasn't for their captain and talisman Charlie Adam. Almost 1 in 3 Blackpool goals scored this year have been score or assisted by the Scotsman.

Nani-Manchester United-30 games-9 goals-18 assists

Nani's omission from the PFA Player of the Year award was a shock to many football fans and pundits. He has stepped out of Ronaldo's shadow and has created 7 more assists than his nearest rival.

Peter Odemwingie-West Bromwich Albion-30 games-12 goals-8 assists

Whenever they have been in the Premier League, West Brom have lacked a goal scorer until the Nigerian Odemwingie came in and gave the side another dimension. Almost 43% of West Brom's goals this year have been scored or made by Odemwingie.

Dimitar Berbatov-Manchester United-29 games-21 goals-3 assists

The Bulgarian striker has had his best season in English football. His 21 goals, which included 3 hat tricks, has made him the top scorer in the Premier League.

Owen Coyle-Bolton Wanderers

Getting Bolton to 8th place so far in the Premier League has propelled his reputation up even further. The former striker has got Bolton playing good football and his tactics and signings, such as Daniel Sturridge, have been second to none. If Harry Redknapp doesn't get the England job, I would pick Owen Coyle.

-Ben Foster-Birmingham City-31 games-9 clean sheets

Nemanja Vidic-Manchester United-30 games-4 goals

Brede Hangeland-Fulham-32 games-3 goals

Yaya Toure-29 games-5 goals-7 assists

Gareth Bale-Tottenham Hotspur-27 games-7 goals-1 assist

Javier Hernandez-Manchester United-22 games-11 goals-1 assist

Kevin Davies-Bolton Wanderers-32 games-7 goals-6 assists
